PASS MY IMPERFECTIONS LIGHTLY BY - Don Bluth Front Row Theatre - June 7-9, 2018

by Vaughn McBride

Mary Todd Lincoln was an enigma. She's remembered as a shrew who was eventually committed to an insane asylum, but she was much more than that.

There were other sides to her complex personality:

Mary's awareness of the political pulse of this country helped her husband become 16th President of the United States
Her idea of what the leader of a nation should be changed the White House from a "countrified plantation" into a figurehead residence, and
She was an emancipated woman long before the slaves were freed.
The horror of her husband's assassination was compounded when she was institutionalized. Despite all of her faults, Mary Todd Lincoln was in many ways the "first" First Lady -- a woman who insisted that her voice be heard.

PASS MY IMPERFECTIONS LIGHTLY BY was written by Vaughn McBride and stars local theatre favorite Patty Stephens in this unique one-woman show.
