RHINOCEROS by Eugene Ionesco
November 2 to November 18

Timely, absurd and classic. This play is the unforgettable story of one manic citizen transforming into a rhinoceros and smashing the social order. Soon, others undergo the bizarre metamorphosis to join in the rampage. All that remains is Berenger — unable to change.

WOYCZEK by Georg Büchner, adapted by John Perovich
February 1 to February 17

Written in fragments and never completed, Büchner’s WOYCZEK is one of the most influential German plays that defined the modern era of theatre. In this new adaptation, Perovich takes the play from its mid-19th century, European roots and sets it in the modern United States. A soldier living in poverty with a family to support, Woyczek agrees to government medical experiments to help cover his expenses. An anxious, cautionary tale of loss and madness, WOYCZEK’S absurd mix of comedy and tragedy entertains, charms and shocks the senses.

ANTIGONE by Sophocles
May 3 to May 19

We’re closing it out with a battle of wills that spills blood on more than a few hands. Antigone, the unconventional heroine, demands that the King of Thebes allows her to bury her brother. What happens when he refuses? Issues of law and morality are put to the test…with devastating consequences.
