Laughing Pig Theatre has collected monologues, essays, and stories from across the community dealing with power and sexual dynamics. Some are from victims. Some from aggressors. Some from somewhere in-between. These pieces will be performed in an intimate evening of humor, heartbreak, and shared experience.
We are looking for performers of all types to act as proxies for those of our writers who are unable to perform themselves. These are real stories with difficult subject matter, but which may be very rewarding to share.
You would be expected to memorize an assigned piece and for the two evening dress rehearsals (3/21-3/22) and be ready to perform for two evening shows (3/23-3/24).
Auditions will be held March 7 at 7:00PM and slots will be in 15-minute increments. The location will be the Mesa Arts Center's Drama Studio. The Mesa Arts Center is located at 1 E Main St in Mesa, and the Drama Studio is on the second floor of the Studios South building, above the Ceramic Studio. It can be reached by going up the stairs by the Registration office, across the bridge to the left.

Prepare a 1-2 minute memorized monologue for the audition. You may also be asked to cold-read excerpts from pieces.
