audition notice - ANNIE - Scottsdale Musical Theater Company - October 14 & 15

Audition Dates/Times:  

Children - Saturday, Oct. 14th @ 10am and Sunday Oct. 15th @ 3pm

Adults - Saturday, Oct. 14th @ 3pm and Sunday Oct. 15th @ 7pm

All ethnicities encouraged to audition

Everyone auditioning needs to reserve a time slot. Please read below for details

Performance Dates: January 3 -7, 2018 at Tempe Center for the Arts

Pay: There will be a $150 performance stipend offered

Rehearsals start:          
End of November. All rehearsals will be held at Conservatory of Dance in Phoenix. There will be a rehearsal schedule with specific dates provided at auditions and a conflict sheet to fill out.

Audition Requirements:

Dancing
Everyone who auditions needs to attend the dance call. Please wear dance appropriate clothes and shoes. (There are a few adult roles that do not need to dance, please see the character descriptions below.)

Singing/Acting
Everyone needs to reserve a specific singing time. Singing/Acting auditions will be assigned every 5 minutes. Please have 2 contrasting vocal selections of 32 bars or less ready in an appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. Please do not sing anything from the show and no cds or acapella singing will be allowed. You may also be asked to do a monologue, not to exceed 1 minute, so please have one prepared.

Daddy Warbucks - (Cast-Bronson Pinchot)
Miss Hannigan - (Cast-Kaitlin Hopkins)
Lily St. Regis - (Cast-Heather Morris)
Annie –  (Cast-Ryan Parker)
Rooster –  (Cast-Hector Coris)
Grace –  (Cast-Lauren Koeritzer)

Daddy Warbucks Understudy - We will be casting a "rehearsal" Daddy Warbucks that will also be cast in the Ensemble. This actor will need to be able to act and sing the role of Daddy Warbucks for all initial rehearsals until Bronson Pinchot arrives for his scheduled rehearsal period, which is only the last week before performances. This actor will also be responsible for working with Bronson to help him learn blocking, staging, exits and entrances, etc.

Miss Hannigan Understudy - We will be casting a "rehearsal" Miss Hannigan that will also be cast in the Ensemble. This actress will need to be able to act and sing the role of  Miss Hannigan for all initial rehearsals until Kaitlin Hopkins arrives for her scheduled rehearsal period, which is only the last 10 days before performances. This actress will also be responsible for working with Kaitlin to help her learn blocking, staging, exits and entrances, etc.

Orphans - Needs strong vocal and acting skills and must have solid dancing skills and good stage presence.
Ages: Molly (6-8), Kate (9-11), Tessie (10-12), Pepper (11-13), July (13-15), Duffy (13-15)

Bert Healy – (Does not need to attend the dance call) Radio star who helps Annie. He’s a crooner. Strong vocal requirement and solid stage presence required
Age: 30-35; Vocal range  - Tenor

FDR - (Does not need to attend the dance call) Needs strong vocal and acting skills. Needs to look very presidential…in a wheelchair of course….
Age: 45-55; Vocal range  - Baritone/Tenor

Ensemble – All minor roles will come from the Ensemble. Ensemble will all have multiple parts. This production will have a smaller, very well used ensemble. Need to have strong vocal, acting and dance abilities.
Ages: 20s to 40s; Vocal ranges  - Any
