Actors Youth Theatre's Summer Theatre Intensive

from our friends at Actors Youth Theatre:

Prepare for the AYT Intensive Experience “13: The Musical”

Have you imagined yourself on a Broadway stage? Are you serious about preparing yourself and creating a life where you can actually make a living as a performer? Then this could be the most important opportunity you have all summer.

Actor’s Youth Theatre is seeking actors who want an intensive, comprehensive, performance based experience. This is specifically geared toward students with a strong passion for the performing arts. It is designed to give participants a taste of what it’s like to work in the “real world” of Broadway and other professional stages; this experience challenges the experienced actor on all fronts: acting, singing and dancing, as well as learning a new method of auditioning, and then rehearsing and performing a show in a condensed timeline. Welcome to the world of life as an actor!

The intensive runs July 5th to July 15th. Open to actors 10 - 16 years of age (by June 25th)

Please note: Enrollment is not automatic. You must participate in a concentrated audition on JUne 25th to participate.

Geek. Poser. Jock. Beauty Queen. Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges Of Madison County) 13 is a musical about fitting in - and standing out!

Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!
