ticket contest - TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - Zao Theatre

from our friends at Zao Theatre and the Apache Junction Independent:

You could win two tickets to a live performance of the classic play “To Kill A Mockingbird.” To qualify, answer trivia questions related to the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about racial injustice that envelops a small-town community in the deep South and the movie based on it that earned three Academy Awards. It will be performed Fridays-Saturdays Oct. 30-Nov. 14 by Zao Theatre, 3700 E. 16th Ave., off Goldfield Road in Apache Junction.

The contest is being presented by the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent in partnership with Zao Theatre, which features talented actors and technicians from across the east Valley and metropolitan Phoenix.

Two contests will be conducted.

During the first contest, two tickets will be awarded for each of the opening weekend shows: at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and 3 p.m. Oct. 31. The deadline to enter contest one is noon, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

During the second contest, two tickets will be awarded for each of these November performances: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6; 3 p.m. Nov. 7; 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7; and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13. The deadline to enter contest two is noon, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.

After the drawing, the entries for contest one will be discarded; they will not be entered into contest two.

Entries must be e-mailed to ajeditor@newszap.com and have “MOCKINGBIRD TICKETS” in the subject line. Each entry must include the following: Answers to the three trivia questions for that week’s contest and the entrant’s name, city of residence and phone number.

Winners will be drawn from the entries containing the correct answers to all three trivia questions for that week. Winners will be contacted by phone.

If there are no entries with all the correct answers, the winners will be selected according to the order in which the entries were received based on their e-mail date stamp. The winners will be able to choose from the tickets available at the time they are contacted.

The questions for contest one are:

1) Who wrote the novel “To Kill A Mockingbird”?

2) Who played the lead character Atticus Finch in the movie version of the novel?

3) One of the lead children in the story — Scout Finch — goes by her nickname. What is her real first name?

Didn’t win tickets? You can purchase them. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $9 for youth. Discounts are offered for groups of 10 or more. They can be purchased by calling 480-924-5122, online or at the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce, 567 W. Apache Trail.
